Janahitha Seva Trust - Fight COVID-19
Seva activities during COVID-19 at Govt Hospitals In Telangana
Doctors, nurses, and emergency staff working with COVID-19 patients in Gandhi Hospital were scared to go home after their duty, as their neighbours and apartment people were objecting their coming home after treatment of COVID patients. Janahitha Seva Trust (Sevabharathi) anticipated this problem well in advance. The Trust approached Gandhi Hospital Superintendent to offer food and accommodation for such people after duty hours. The Superintendent accepted the offer and requested us to provide separate accommodation for doctors, nurses, and sub staff.
We approached one of the nursing homes in Secunderabad too. Mr. Rajander Singh, the proprietor of Saluja Nursing Home accepted the offer after 2 days. We approached the hotel opposite to Gandhi Hospital, who readily accepted the offer. We inspected all the rooms across the 3 floors and found out that 45 people could be accommodated in the hotel. Also, the rooms were very neat and clean with good ventilation. We helped the nurses to shift here immediately, and other nurses also started to come and stay here. Total 43 nurses could be accommodated. Two of the doctors were also provided with good AC rooms. In the shelter home, maximum of 45 people working in covid wards and the security, were accommodated.
We provided them with nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hotel accommodated doctors and nurses from 25th March 2020 onwards. After that, nurses were given alternate accommodation by the hospital administration from 1st June 2020. However, we allowed the workers to continue to stay in our shelter home till things got back to normal at Gandhi Hospital.
We have installed a disinfection tunnel through which the doctors and others enter (not for covid positive patients). All the people passing through the tunnel get exposed to Sodium Hypochlorite solution, which kills the virus.
Nizamabad Govt Hospital
We have installed one disinfection tunnel here too, through which the doctors and others enter. (not for covid positive patients). All the people passing through the tunnel get exposed to Sodium Hypochlorite solution, which kills the virus.
