Today Janahitha Seva Trust staff and Trustees met at our Nalakunta Center. Some of the highlights that were shared from the different project teams are as below:
Women Empowerment – This November 56 women are going to appear for SETWIN exams out of which 4 women would be appearing for the final semester leading to Diploma in Fashion Design. The tutors of the 11 centers were present and it was a very proud moment for them as some of our students are now tutors in new centers.
Youth Skill Development – This November 47 students of our Computer training centers will be appearing for SETWIN examinations both in Computer Basics, MS-Office and Tally. Tutors were very excited to share that Students are very enthustiastic and eager to clear their exams and get their diplomas.
OP Helpdesk – We have Out-Patient Helpdesks in 3 major government hospitals – Gandhi Hospital, Osmania General Hospital and MNJ Cancer hospitals. The staff are now given additional responsibilities of supporting the Biochemistry Labs and also in managing OP Patients mapping. This shows the reliance of the hospital on our efficient staff. each hospital OP Helpdesk staff help more than 1000 patients everyday. They also give special attention to cases wherein they help the patients to get admitted in emergency, take them to the right ward, help in getting the diagnostic tests done and also provide counselling to the patient and their attenders.
Health Camps – We had done 4 medical camps last month but this month due to Election code we have stopped them. In collaboration with Anand Eye Hospital, we have conducted two Eye camps where patients diagnosed with Cataract are taken to the hospital by our team and brought back post operation. There was a special CPR training camp for Staff of Youth for Seva where Janahitha team and Expert Doctor Maheshwar Reddy imparted the training to the YSF team. Janahitha is also conducting Health checkups for four senior citizen homes wherein doctors diagnose and provide medicines to the elders.
Education – We are running special after-school education centers for children in LB Nagar, Miyapur and Shamirpet. Students are taught their academic subjects alongwith special emphasis is given to cultural and personality development.
Rakthadaan – We are very proud to state that we have a voluntary donor database of 65000 in Telangana state. We operate a 24×7 call center which supports request for blood and then reaches out to our donors who are available and match the requirement. This call center has a great rate of fulfilling 4-5 requests per day.
We also run an Oxygen bank which has Oxygen cylinders and concentrators. We provide them free of cost as all of the above services. The current rate is 1-2 requests are fulfilled every month.
A New program was announced that falls under Youth Skill Development and Rakthadaan. We have reached out to some of the prestigious degree colleges and schools. We are scheduling and executing the events as below:
1) Blood Grouping for College students in association with Rakthadaan Seva Trust.
2) Haemoglobin tests (only for teen age girls/women)and medicines in association with Bharat Vikas Parishad
3) Career Counselling in association with Skillsforce
4) First Aid training in Schools and Colleges in association with Aarogya Bharathi.
The meeting ended with humble Deepawali gifts of hand-painted diyas from Sadhana home for the mentally challenged and also a sweet box.
